Update

No news yet regarding the marrow results.

Tom's platelet count is low, therefore he has been getting infusions this week to hopefully increase the level. After his infusion yesterday he was not feeling as well as he has been. Last night he temporarily lost use of his legs! He couldn't stand up on his own without maximum assistance. He was able to pull himself up the stairs using the banister while I pushed him. Then at the top of the staircase I supported him and pulled him to the bed. This morning he was ok - he had a headache though.

Today he is getting an MRI of his lungs - ordered by the Infectious Disease doctor. He's not sure why - only that the doctor is overly cautious (nothing wrong with that, eh?). I get the feeling that Tom thinks it's a waste of time. This is the same doctor that is refusing to discontinue the use of those drugs he hates so much.

Tom,
You did not email me this morning with an update. You scared me, but I'm glad Lisa has updated the blog. Don't get antsy with the doctor. Remember, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! Today, I ate barbeque in your honor! You guys keep on truckin! Everything sounds just great.
Love ya!
Elise

Hmmm, well it is not unusual to have some back-sliding events in your pursuit of health. It's going to be two or three steps forward, and some steps backward for a little while. Keep on doing what you are doing--- some days are better than others.
Hopefully after a while there will be more successful days per month than unsuccessful ones, but of course, there will be some bad ones. Considering the circumstances, you are on a remarkable road to health even if you veer off into the ditch once in a while.

We are watching and hoping and praying . . . and your guardian angels are looking out for you too. Keep us posted!
