Disappointing news

Tom will not be returning to work on Monday. His neurologist feels that it is in Tom's best interest for him to stay home for two more months. Tom's primary care doctor said that she would allow him to work part-time (she didn't feel comfortable with that but I guess she saw how eager Tom was). So the neuro is going to contact the primary doctor and they are going to push the return to work date back.

I feel very good about the decision. I knew he wasn't ready. I didn't think he would even make it a week before having to stay home. The paperwork involved would have been miserable for many - his bosses, the HR dept, the disability provider, the insurance provider, the company who has been applying for his social security disability. They would have had to change his status and then have to start all over with the paperwork. We all want Tom to be strong before he returns to work.

His dizzy spells are still present and today he had some trouble with his vision. His peripheral vision on the right side was impaired and his arm was stiff. He also couldn't type words correctly when he was composing an email and had to stop. Soon after all this ended, his friend came over to take him to lunch. He went and he said he was ok the whole time.

Lisa,

Just wondering if there is any update since the July posting. All hoping things are looking better and that Tom can return to IHG.

Thanks,

Ted
