Happy belated Thanksgiving! I hope you all enjoyed yours as much as we did. Instead of me running around and trying to balance a pie on one finger, a turkey on my foot, a bowl of green beans on my other finger, and a bowl of mashed potatoes on my head (just to name a few), while trying to set the table and keep the dishes rotating in and out of the dishwasher like last year, I had lots of "delicious help". We had a great big potluck style dinner. Tom's father brought the turkey, his brother brought some macaroni and cheese, my father and brother brough a dessert, snacks and drinks, and I made a few fail-safe family recipes. It was all good - so good that Tom ate two huge plates loaded with food. Mmmm...
We have our Christmas tree up and it's beautiful! Tom is really getting a lot out of the Christmas feeling that seems to be enveloping our house - the tree, little village displays, music, movies, etc.
Tom is doing fine. He's still a bit wobbly on his feet and has to take deliberate steps but he gets around pretty good. He's had a few incidents - one in which he fell and crushed a small wooden, lightweight trashcan in the bathroom in the middle of the night. He scratched and bruised his back pretty bad, but he got back up. The other incident should probably be considered a little more serious. Tom went to grab a magazine which I accidently threw away, out of the trashcan. Well, I didn't know he was reaching into the trashcan any more than he knew I had emptied the vacuum cleaner dust earlier. When he reached in, a puff of dust blew into his face. Now, he's not even supposed to be in a room that was recently vacuumed - the dust has to settle for a few hours. So, he got the concentrated amount of something he his supposed to avoid.
We looked at each other silently and took a deep sigh. What now?
A little while later he called the doctor who told him to start taking an anti-fungal medicine again - one that he had finally quit taking last month. There is now a chance that he could develop pneumonia because of that dust...

It was just wonderfule seeing all of you on last Friday - TRULY the highlight of our visit to Atlanta. JOY!

Let's hope the dust incident is nothing more than just an incident and Tom's immune system is strong enough to resist that nasty pneumonia. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. It sounds like your Thanksgiving was wonderful. Again, I really wished I could have been there. I'll be there sometime after finals!

I wonder if Tom would like to join us on Sunday at Centennial Olympic Park to take Christmas pictures. . . I think I have him on the SCC mailing list anyway. Depends on whether he can get out in the weather or not, so I am not anticipating a "hell yeah" from such an invitation.
Glad you all got together for Thanksgiving. That's always fun. Norma and I went to Alabama to visit my brother and sister so we had a big day too.
