More time at home

Tom is going to the clinic every other day now. He's permitted to self-administer his medicine at home on the "off" days. He wears a bag with a strap (like a purse) which holds the IV bag of medicine. The medicine is connected to his chest catheter. Anyway, it's nice to have whole days at home now.

He's doing well. He's getting around more easily. His appetite is amazing - almost normal. As many of you know, Tom eats a LOT of food. When we first met I couldn't believe how much he could eat at one sitting - he was so thin! He told me he had hollow legs.

We are now focusing on building his strength. He wants to walk around in a big store like Target or Walmart to get some exercise in a controlled temperature environment. The doctor said he'll have to wait a little longer because he still has a trace of pneumonia. I guess the mask he wears in public over his mouth and nose isn't sufficient.

That's about it for now.

Those chocolate shakes must be working! Beware of germs in public places though . . .
