Hot, hot, hot

Tom went to the clinic today and we were home by 1:00pm. Nothing new to report.

Our house is an oven. As of yesterday both of our a/c units are no longer working. I dragged my feet about getting the first unit replaced last week b/c Tom was comfortable and I had the option of going upstairs to cool off. Now, even Tom is beginning to feel the heat, but he's not uncomfortable yet. The first unit is scheduled to be replaced next week. I'll get a diagnosis on the second one - hopefully it'll be a minor repair.

I'm going crazy in the heat. I left spontaneously today and went and got 10 inches of my hair cut off! I don't do well in extreme temperatures. The kitchen is officially closed until further notice. Tonight is a pizza night.

Lisa,
You might consider purchasing a small window unit at Home Depot (some of them cost 85 to $150 to get you by and for emergencies. We have a couple of rooms where we have installed them even though we have central air. They also have stand alone units that sit inside the room, and don't have to be installed. Let me know if you need help with this. Air Conditioning in the Atlanta area during summer heat is a necessity and not having it can be dangerous . . . especially for Tom, but for you too.

Kids,
I hate to hear that about your a/c units. Richard had some good ideas. Those portable stand alone a/c things are neat and really can cool off an area. We used them extensively at Northrop Grumman following Hurricane Katrina. Excuse, I should say the VP's and Directors used them. I felt a cool blast on occasion! Ha! Ha!

I'm sorry I have not been able to visit this weekend. I have a pretty nasty sinus infection and I've only been on antibiotics a couple of days. So, I know the drill. I can't be around you. I will have to catch up with you next trip!

love ya,
