Happy 4th of July!

Today was very smooth. I took Tom to the infusion center and stayed with him for an hour. Then I went home and had some "Katie time". She is so fun right now - singing, songwriting, clothes designing, etc. She spends the majority of the time with two sisters from our old neighborhood that she began hanging out with at the beginning of the summer break. They have become practically inseparable. The parents are so generous and insistent on helping out, as are so many of you. She's going to the beach with them in a couple of weeks and can't wait. They've already been out of town twice together. Katie comes home and tells me alllllll.... about it. She's having a great summer, so for all of you that ask about her please don't worry. She's doing fine.

The three of us went to see our town's fireworks show this evening which takes place at the high school. The wind was softly blowing and it felt so good to sit out in our lawn chairs, although in a parking lot, and watch the show. I could tell that Tom really liked being out. He's not allowed to be in crowds because of the risk of becoming sick, but that was a good setting because everyone was spread way out.

Tom is doing very well. He's walking up and down the stairs WITHOUT telling me first. That's my only complaint. His appetite is great and he's motivated to start exercising (maybe I'll begin with him). The three of us are going to take a short walk in the morning on a trail through a local nature preserve.

That's great that ya'll were able to go out and spend some quality family time. I'm sure Katie is happy to have her Dad home.
