$4000 for a bottle of pills

Our first day back at the BMT infusion center was a little worrysome. Shortly after we arrived Tom had his first bladder spasm in three days. He was in severe pain for about 20 minutes. I thought he may have to go to the hospital. Fortunatly, it ceased and the day went on as usual.

We went to the pharmacy on the way home to pick up his latest variety of medicines. As the pharmacist was totaling the co-pay amounts she held up a bottle and said, 'Be glad you only have to pay $35 for this particular prescription. Without insurance it would cost over $4,000'. Can you believe it??? Four thousand dollars for 60 pills.

We return to the BMT clinic tomorrow but have Saturday off. Yea!

It is hard to imagine what in a pill would cost $4,000. But then, when it comes to our Tom, is there any price that can be put on attempts to bring him back to normal? Just be glad that there are more important things in the world than money. People tend to forget that, yet the most valuable things in life can't be bought.

OMG! $4,000!!! That's incredible. Yes, be glad for the insurance. Prescriptions are big business, unfortunately. It must be a pretty new medicine. I'm so glad you don't have to worry about things like $4,000 prescriptions.
Love y'all
