Tom is doing great. He can eat foods such as apple sauce, green beans, mac 'n cheese - very small portions. There are still foods that make him gag though such as meat, anything with sauce or gravy. His color is good, he sits up periodically, and he's using the computer and his iPod.
The doctor said the GVHD is mild and under control, so he can probably go home tomorrow! Yeah!
The biggest obstacle currently is Tom's immobility. He uses a walker to get around, making a couple of laps around the bone marrow wing (27 laps = 1 mile) twice per day. The physical therapist is going to visit Tom's hospital room tomorrow to give me instructions on how to help Tom improve his mobility once we get home.

That's awesome news! I know you guys will be so much happier to get home. And, I bet Tom is thrilled to be able to eat real food again. I'm very happy for you all.

Wow! That is incredible news. I'm really excited for all of you. Tell him to keep that positive attitude and we can't wait to see him. (and the rest of the Carters)

Tom. Sorry I have not kept in better touch, although I've been following along. Glad you are on your way home, and on your way to better health. Always in my thoughts . . . Daniel
