Dr. DeAngelis (specialist in New York) has requested three different types of MRIs which include images of the:

1) Lumbar spine (lower)
2) Thoracic spine (upper)
3) Full body (PET scan)

She doesn't want them all at once though. She is going to request them as needed, the first one being the lumbar which Tom did last Thursday. I guess she has some idea of what she's looking for and doesn't want to have scans done unnecessarily. Dr. DeAngelis doesn't accept scans sent electronically, therefore Tom has sent them via Fedex. I think it's great how efficiently the scan records are distributed - Tom always walks out of the facility with a disc of the images in his hand. I'm glad we have the option of having them on disc or online.

We haven't heard anything from Dr. D yet but that's because she is out of the office until Tuesday. I'll keep you posted.

Tom is doing okay except for a bad cough and some congestion. These both started after he had a vaccine for the Swine flu last week. I thought it was a rather risky decision on Tom's part since he currently has a weakened immune system. God, please spare him the flu.
