This weekend has been pretty uneventful. Tom hasn't had any numb spells. He still sees floaters - he describes them as small neon blue dots that pop/explode. He looks fine. He describes his legs and feet as a "trainwreck". There is some serious nerve damage there.
Katie will be staying with the Stuarts during our trip to NYC. Those Stuarts, I don't know what we would do without them. They have "kept" Katie whever we needed them over the past 2 1/2 years.
Also, Katha Stuart told me about a place that is part of the American Cancer Society called Hope Lodge. This is a program, with several locations around the country, which provides temporary housing for people treating cancer, who are traveling from out of state. It's sort of like a hotel but it also has a community kitchen, a library, and a meditation room. The rooms are very nice suites. There is a minimum stay of three nights and you must have a referral from your clinic's social worker. Also, it is first come first served. So, if we find ourselves having to stay in New York for an extended time in the future we will try to reserve a room.
