Hello everyone,
Well, this is the third week of summer break for me and Katie and we're lovin' it! Being off is nice - we usually just go to the pool or to a movie. Things like the zoo, the museum, and Whitewater will probably not happen. Tom could go but the only way he could get around is if he rented a scooter and he's not going to do that - he's too embarrassed to do so. I would take Katie by myself but I'm worried about leaving Tom alone for very long; he has bouts of numbness. It starts with a tingling in his arm, which eventually goes numb for a few minutes. You know, he tells the various doctors these things and I don't know what they do after they jot down the notes. I guess they just advise Tom to continue going to physical therapy, or to make an appointment to see the neurologist, or see his oncologist, or schedule a visit for the clinic. They seem to pass him off to the next guy. I suppose they're tired of not knowing the solutions.
At this point we are mainly concerned about his legs. This is ongoing - not getting any better. He can't feel his feet which makes it extremely difficult to walk. He gets winded whenever he is in a standing position for very long. For example, he'll make me a sandwich sometimes (his offering) and is just exhausted after it's over.
We went out to eat recently and upon entering the restaurant Tom didn't raise his foot high enough and tripped on a rubber mat. He fell on his face, scrapping his nose and breaking his glasses. It was not a big deal, believe it or not - pretty typical actually. A few employees helped us to a table and kindly brought Tom a small band-aide for his nose. Nice folks over there at Greenwood's on Green St. (and delicious food).

Sorry to hear that Tom broke his glasses. He looks really good in those. I hope you all continue to grow in positive directions. We enjoyed visiting with you and Tom looks really good. If I didn't know he had some issues, I would say that he seems very normal. I would hire him in a minute if I were an employer. He is coming along just fine. Yes, it will take some more time for Tom to get back to perfect, but he is showing so much progress that I am sure he will return all the way.
God bless you all.
