Medicine = $$$

As I stated in one of my blogs earlier, there is a short gap in Tom's healthcare coverage (a couple of days). I was given 5 prescriptions from the hospital to get filled. Without insurance, the Kaiser pharmacy (his insurance carrier's pharmacy) was going to charge me $770. The pharmacist took me aside and suggested I get the prescriptions filled at Walmart. So, I drove down the street a couple of miles to Walmart and was quoted $268 for the same prescriptions. I saved $500, thanks to that kind pharmacist!
