Tapering off clinic visits

We were told today by a physician's assistant that the doctor likes what he sees in Tom's progress and will most likely begin tapering off the number of visits Tom makes to the clinic each week - presently every other day. So, he might get two days at home in between clinic visits.

Also, the IV bag that he is attached to during his days at home will soon be replaced with a medicine in pill form. No more squishy bag to cart around!

Even with all that good news Tom isn't feeling very well today. He feels nauseous and feels hot even though he doesn't have a fever. He hasn't eaten all day and has no desire to do so.

Sounds like cool news about the clinic visits. I'd be happy about that. I'm sorry Tom isn't feeling well today. Maybe he's just been eating so much that Tom has built up a reserve of nutrients. Feeling hot? Interesting. I have taken medicines that make me feel that way sometimes. Lisa, I am sure you will stay on top of things regarding Tom's care. You guys are doing a great job!
Love ya,
Elise

When a person undergoes all kinds of treatments and chemical injections, it can't be easy to maintain equilibrium. Just taking someone off an IV and adding pills to the equation could cause major disturbances in well-being, temperment, etc.

We are glad to hear that the doctors are seeing progress enough to make changes in Tom's treatment. One step at a time . . . one step at a time.
It's ok to feel bad during the week, but remind Tom it's a weekend coming up. Time to feel better . . . and have a great weekend!
