Tom was not able to attend his mother's viewing or the funeral this weekend. His white blood cell count is in the danger zone, meaning he's susceptible to any germ - on surfaces or airborn. Attending the funeral was too risky because of the large number of attendees and the proximity of them to us. This was a difficult decision but one that everyone understood. His mother would have wanted him to stay home.
He is very shaky and unsteady on his feet. He has fallen many times. He has to be supported by someone or even put in a wheelchair when we're at the clinic. I'm so afraid that he's going to break a bone.
He's able to keep food down about half the time. The doctors are concerned about his weight and his low calorie and fat intake. I'm still trying to fatten him up. Katie is contributing her amazing homemade chocolate sundaes. Mmmm...

Tom, that sucks. I'm so sorry to hear that you had to miss the funeral. I know that was hard on you. Stay strong! You're in Amanda and my hearts and thoughts. All three of you are.
